FCC leads the Ibex in spite of negative public sector news
MADRID, APR. 23 (Bolsamania.com/BMS) .- Shares of Spanish construction company FCC were rising just over seven and a half percent on Tuesday morning although Spain's Ministry for the Environment announced that there would be a 11.5 percent cut to infrastructure investment this year. It expects to invest €1.745bn compared to €1.971bn last year. The Ministry also said there would be pressure on payments for projects already in progress. Analysts at Ahorro Corporacion Financiera said that the news is bad for the sector although it had already forecast a double-digit drop in domestic civil projects for 2013 and as much as a 20% decline in demand for cement. They also said payment problems would lead to deteriorating cash flows. Ahorro pointed out that ACS, FCC, Sacyr, and Ferrovial will be the most hurt by the news, and to a lesser extent OHL and Acciona. SC
